Full Chisel vs Semi-Chisel Chain
Which cutter shape to run for clean wood, dirty wood, and everything between.

Same chain, different cutter corner — and it changes how the saw behaves.
Full chisel
Square-cornered cutters slice fast and aggressively in clean softwood. The trade-off: they dull quickly in dirty or frozen wood and are less forgiving of a glancing rock.
Semi-chisel
Rounded cutters cut a touch slower but hold an edge far longer in dirty wood, dry hardwood, and stump work. The homeowner default.
Pick by the wood
Clean firewood and speed → full chisel. Dirty, dry, or occasional use where edge retention matters → semi-chisel. Both come in the same pitch/gauge/drive-link sizes, so fitment doesn’t change.
